Just An Illusion

Everyday she goes to that place…
The same old place where they used to meet… at the same old time…
All dressed up… with an innocent smile on her pretty face…
Hoping she’d find him waiting for her…
Just like the old days…
She sits on their old “love seat”…
Letting a cigarette… smoking it just the way he used to like it…
Wearing that perfume which was his favorite…
Playing with her hair just the way it used to please him…
Hoping he’ll be standing somewhere near…
Laying his eyes on her… just watching her…
She keeps checking the time…
Wondering what took him so long…
Then all of a sudden… with her hoping for a better tomorrow…
She puts her coffee aside…
Stands up…
And finally realizes…
He’s just an illusion…
He’ll never be back…
Yet…
She still comes back…
On the very next day…
